The Westbrook Flyer 2008
A little history
In 1991 a group of dedicated individuals chartered a train to raise money for the development of a new library for Westbrook Lane Primary School in Horsforth, Leeds. Little did that band of pioneers realise, but they set in motion an annual event that has become the highlight of the festive season for many. The Flyer continues to raise money to support the children of Westbrook Lane School.
A fantastic day out in 2007 took 700 revellers to Edinburgh. Despite the breakdown of the engine, no hot water and some shocking entertainers the high spirits of all travellers and crew saw a great journey raise £10,000 for the school. Help us to repeat the success of 2007 when the flyer runs again on Saturday 6th December 2008.
